IMAM HATİP SCHOOLS GAVE A MESSAGE TO THE WORLD IN 10 LANGUAGES WITH TÜRKİYE DEBATES

The Türkiye Debates Final Program and Award Ceremony, organized by the Ministry of National Education General Directorate of Religious Education for the fifth time this year, was held in Bursa on June 12-13, 2022.

In the final of the debate competitions held in English, Arabic, Japanese, Chinese, Persian, German, French, Russian, and Spanish for Turkish students in Anatolian imam hatip high schools, and in Turkish for foreign students from 94 different countries studying in international Anatolian imam hatip high schools, the students discussed the effect of social morality and conscience on law and discipline rules.

It is carried out as one of the largest projects conducted internationally by the General Directorate of Religious Education of the Ministry of National Education of Türkiye, which is held for the fifth time this year between Anatolian imam hatip high schools with foreign language preparatory classes and international Anatolian imam hatip high schools. In the debate competitions, where in-school and inter-school qualifiers were held online in April and May, the teams competed in 10 different languages, addressing social issues on a global scale. In the Türkiye Finals of the organization, 36 different teachers and faculty members from universities and institutions providing language education served as the jury.

Türkiye Finals, which was held on 12-13 June 2022 at Merinos Atatürk Culture and Congress Center, was supported by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, Uludağ University, and Istanbul University. 20 schools competed for the final in 10 different branches in Turkey Discussions, which was also supported by Akdemistanbul Language Center, which has been a partner of the organization since its first year of the organization.  Many non-governmental organizations in Bursa also supported the competitions where the awards were covered by the Bursa Imam Hatip Schools Alumni and Members Association (BİHMED).
