As Akdem Store, we participated in the 1st International Book Distributors Congress, which was held for the first time this year in Sharjah. 

Akdem Store -Arabic Book Landmark- represented by Dr. Muhammed Agirakca, participated in the first conference for book distributors in the world in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates organized by the Sharjah Book Authority in the free zone of Sharjah Publishing City in the United Arab Emirates on May 15-16, 2022. More than 200 distributors, publishers and booksellers from the Middle East, South Asia and Africa participated in the conference, as part of the Emirates’ efforts to strengthen the publishing sector at the local and regional levels. This conference is held on the sidelines of the activities of the 13th session of the Sharjah Children's Reading Festival with the participation of experts specialized in the publishing sector, with the aim of encouraging the best book distribution practices, and helping to analyze existing trends in many areas that affect public access to books, in particular digital strategies, and the relationships of stakeholders, inventory organization, presentation, customer interaction and new business models. The conference also provides participants with the opportunity to network, showcase their experiences and explore new opportunities in the market through face-to-face bilateral meetings. In this context, Dr. Muhammed Agirakca conducted a series of bilateral meetings and acquaintance sessions with a group of publishers and distributors in order to search for prospects for joint work with Akdem Store - Arabic Book Landmark - in the world of publishing and the book industry.
