The 20th Intensive Course in Training Arabic Language Teachers for Non-Native Speakers Has Started

On Tuesday, May 13, 2025, Akdemistanbul Language Center – Center for Training and Development launched the 20th edition of its intensive training program titled “Principles and Methods of Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers.” This online course began with the participation of 34 trainees from 14 countries.

This program marks a significant milestone in the ongoing series of teacher training initiatives organized by Akdemistanbul Language Center, renowned for its consistent success in the field of Arabic teaching.

Designed to enhance the skills of educators engaged in Arabic language courses, the program will continue until June 10, 2025, with sessions held twice a week — every Tuesday and Thursday from 19:30 to 22:00, totaling 6 hours per week. The course is delivered by a distinguished team of experts in Arabic teaching for non-native speakers:

• Ahmed Rehban – Lecturer, Ibn Haldun University, Turkey

• Dr. Maher Rifai – Faculty Member, Fatih Sultan Mehmet University, Turkey

• Dr. Mu’tasim Mohammed Hamad – Academic Researcher and Lecturer, Kocaeli University, Turkey

• Dr. Mohammed Al-Khalaf – PhD in Applied Linguistics and Lecturer, Istanbul Aydın University, Turkey

Course topics include:

✔ General principles of foreign language instruction
✔ Classification of language proficiency levels
✔ Teaching the four primary language skills (reading, listening, speaking, writing)
✔ Teaching linguistic components (phonology, vocabulary, grammar structures)
✔ Lesson planning techniques
✔ Designing active learning tasks and language games

At the end of the course, participants will receive:

• A Certificate of Attendance accredited by Akdemistanbul Language Center – Center for Training and Development

• A Certificate of Achievement for those who pass the final theoretical exam
