DÖGM 2024 Arabic Teaching Methodology Seminars Have Begun.

The “Arabic teaching Methodology Seminars,” one of the projects initiated to strengthen Arabic learning in Anatolian Imam Hatip schools, started on Thursday, January 11, 2024.

In collaboration with the Ministry of National Education’s Directorate General for Religious Education and Akdemistanbul, “Arabic teaching Development Projects” were launched in January 2024 to improve foreign language education in Imam Hatip schools, support the Arabic language courses and vocational Arabic language courses, and enhance the professional knowledge, skills, and attitudes of teachers instructing these courses. For 2024, Modern standard Arabic methodology seminars have been divided for middle and high school levels. Seminars for middle school teachers are held on Thursdays, while high school teachers’ seminar days are set for Fridays.

A total of 1,082 Arabic, vocational, and religious culture and ethics teachers across Turkey applied to participate in the Arabic teaching Methodology Seminars. These seminars began at 19:00 on Thursday, January 11, 2024, with opening speeches by the Director-General of Religious Education Dr. Ahmet İşleyen, Department Head İhsan Erkul, and Akdemistanbul’s founder and educational consultant, Professor Dr. Ahmet Ağırakça.

Following the opening speeches, the first seminar on “Sample Lesson Presentation and Curriculum Analysis of the 5th Grade Arabic language courses Curriculum Themes and Achievements” was presented by Akdemistanbul’s Arabic Academic Coordinator Mahmut Hüseyin. The participating teachers provided valuable feedback, making the seminar process enjoyable.

Sixteen seminars, each planned for three hours, are expected to conclude by June, with an online exam scheduled on June 12 to mark the end of the training process.
