At the Akdemistanbul Language Festival!

The foreign language festival for Imam Hatip middle schools implementing an intensive foreign language program was held on June 11-12, 2024, in Istanbul.

The language festival took place under the coordination of the Istanbul Directorate of Religious Education, Pendik Sezai Karakoç Imam Hatip Middle School, and Başakşehir İTO Hüma Hatun Imam Hatip Middle School, with the participation of 70 Imam Hatip middle schools implementing the intensive foreign language program.

At the festival, students and teachers from the participating schools, along with numerous visitors, local administrators, representatives from civil society organizations, and members of the press came together.

The festivities were held at Pendik Yunus Emre Cultural Center on June 11, 2024, and at Başakşehir Mehmet Emin Saraç Cultural Center on June 12, 2024, with the participation of Imam Hatip middle schools. The program featured Arabic and English songs, theater performances, and stage shows, showcasing the foreign language projects of the schools in exhibition areas. Alongside these events, students demonstrated their progress in Modern Standard Arabic and Modern Standard Turkish, reflecting the success of the programs.

As Akdemistanbul, we also participated in the language festival organized by the General Directorate of Religious Education. We played language games with our students, shared our rich educational materials, and introduced our Arabic teaching and Turkish teaching methodologies. At the language festival, we also emphasized the importance of Arabic learning and Turkish learning, contributing another thread to our students’ journey of knowledge.
